University of Kassel is a university founded in 1971 located in Kassel, Hesse, in Germany. As of October 2013 it had about 23,000 students and more than 2,600 staff, including 307 professors. The Institute of Business Administration (IBWL) is renowned for its leadership in Information, Innovation and Management (IIM) studies, sustainable supply chains and supply chain controls. With extensive collaboration networks, local government support and editorial capacity, the institute will be contributing its research and dissemination expertise to the project.

Participating Staff

Prof. Dr Stefan Seuring is internationally renowned for his leading works on sustainable supply chains, integration and visibility. His work has been extensively cited, and he has got an H-Index equal to 50. He will lead and coordinate the node. He will provide ESR supervision and training, supporting the research through comprehensive coordination with industry partners; also he will lead WP1 (concerned with the development of innovative models for assessing the performance of circular supply chains).

Dr Philipp Sauer has extensive experience in conducting third party founded research projects including industrial partners and stakeholders and he will participate in the joint coordination of the node. His expertise in multi-tier supply chain management as well as qualitative methods such as Delphi studies and literature reviews will be highly valuable to the project and to the ESRs’ skills development required in WP1.

PD Dr Marcus Brandenburg sits on 11 editorial boards of prestigious international journals and has expertise in SCM control and planning. He will jointly coordinate the node. He will be involved in ESR supervisions and training. His expertise in quantitative methods for solving complex decision-making problems in contemporary supply chains will be highly valuable to the project and to ESRs’ skills development.
