Biman Darshana Hettiarachchi
Biman is a Research Assistant and a PhD candidate at the University of Kassel, Germany. He holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Bachelor’s Degree in Transport and Logistics Management from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. In his masters dissertation, he focused on optimization of ready-mixed concrete truck scheduling using metaheuristic approaches. He worked as an Instructor in the Department of Transport and Logistics, University of Moratuwa Sri Lanka. Currently, he is the South Asia Regional Ambassador for Young Professionals in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport International. Also, he served as the Chairman of the Young Professionals’ Forum, the young arm of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Sri Lanka during 2017/19 while volunteering as a core committee member for six years.
